Hello crafty friends! I'm showcasing the new Build-a-Hat dies from Papertrey Ink. This adorable set includes dies for the hat base and many extras to customize it. I made a card, some tags, and a felt ornament with this set.
With all the extra dies included, you can add stripes and faux stitching detail plus pick from two styles of pom pom toppers. There's even a die that cuts a row of slits to create a weave design element like I've done on the snow days hat.
The hat turns out to be a good size at 4.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide. The card I made is A2 size and it fills the space nicely.
The tags are a hinged style that open up like a card. The solid color and patten paper I used for the card and tags comes from the Merry 6x8 paper pad from Scrapbook.com. I loved the fun color palette of pale aqua, pink, and red but there's so many other color and pattern combinations I'd like to try for these.
I got out my sewing machine to make the felt ornament below. The dies easily cut through felt and the size is perfect for ornaments. I used a hot glue gun to add the stripes and snowflake embellishment. This was fairly quick and easy to make so I have a feeling I'll be whipping up a few more of these little hats for gifts.
That felt hat is so adorable! Love it!

DeleteYour card and tags and felt ornaments are soooooo CUTE!! I've had fun with this die set too, but didn't realize you could weave with the one die, so thanks for heads up!! 😊❤️
