It's release day for Hello Bluebird! The Fall mini release will be available tonight (9/29) at 7pm MT. There's some super cute Halloween stamp sets included in this release and I have used one of them to create this not so spooky Halloween night scene below.
I started this scene with the background. My favorite backgrounds to make are for Halloween cards. It's the perfect opportunity to play with color and masking. I masked off the area for the moon before applying color. I used a Tim Holtz Moon Mask. I then blended on a combo of Ripe Persimmon, Seedless Preserves, and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks to set the mood for this fun scene. Next I added a bunch of black and white splatter. After the splatter was dry, I removed the mask to reveal that glowing moon.
I die cut the Winter Woods Overlay twice from black card stock, glued them together, and then adhered it down overtop the ink blended background.
I Copic colored the cute images from a new set called Candy Crew. This stamp set is packed with all the cute critters you've come to expect from Hello Bluebird plus some fun extras like the little candy pieces, spider, and a jack-o-lantern. Copic colors I used are listed below:
- Red Violet - RV52, RV55, RV63, RV69
- Orange - YR21, YR12, YR14, YR18
- Yellow - FY1, Y000, Y00
- Green - YG11, YG17
- Warm Grey - W1, W3, W4
- Black - N4, N6
- Brown - E41, E42, E43
