Hello Bluebird - September Release Preview Day 1 - Pumpkin Time

Hello crafty friends! I'm so excited to finally start sharing what I have been working on using the September release from Hello Bluebird.  This month's release has all the autumn vibes along with lots of cute critters for scene building on cards.

The card I'm sharing today features the new Pumpkin Time stamp set.  It's a 4x6" set and is packed with the perfect sentiments and quotes to complete any fall card.

I have used all the images in the set to create a fun fall scene on my card.
Mr. Fox is gathering up his pumpkin crop with a tiny helper.

This slimline design measures 3.5" tall by 7.5" long.  It is slightly shorter than my usual slimline cards because I really didn't need as much length for the scene.

I used a combo of Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink for the sky color.  A combo of Bundled Sage and Mowed Lawn Oxide Inks were used for the grass borders. I generously splattered the entire background with thinned orange acrylic paint.

I stamped and Copic colored all the images in the set.  I stamped eight of the single pumpkin image to create the pile of pumpkins.  My go to Copic combo for pumpkins is YR21, YR12, YR14, and YR18.  I start by putting down the lightest color, YR21, over the entire pumpkin.  I then take the three darker colors to add shading.  I use YR18 sparingly since it's pretty dark.  After that I go over the entire pumpkin again with the YR21 to blend out any harsh lines.

For the perfect fox color combo, I used E13, E15, and E17. I use the same method as I explained above for the pumpkins.  I always go from lightest to darkest and finish with an over all sweep of the lightest for blending.  The card stock I used for my Copic coloring is Neenah Solar White Super Smooth 80lb.  I have found this card stock to allow for excellent blending of the Copics which I think is key for beautiful colored images every time.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will have a new card to share everyday leading up to the launch of the September release which will be available for purchase in the Hello Bluebird shop on the 13th at 7pm MST.
