Honey Bee Stamps - Lucky Gnome Friendship Card

Hello crafty friends! I have a fun St. Patty's Day inspired slimline card to share today. I've repurposed one of the gnomes from Gnome Place Like Home and made him into a little leprechaun.

I started with a slimline card base (8.5" by 3.5"). I used a combo of Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks with a background blender brush to create the soft green ombre background.

I then used a combination of stamps and alpha dies to create the greeting which I've stretched out the length of the card. The stamped part is from a little set called Four Leaf Clover. I do believe this set was a promotional set released last year. I used the Bee Bold Alphabet Honey Cuts and some Welsh Gold Craft Perfect Glitter Card for the word "lucky".

I Copic colored the little gnome to resemble a leprechaun, die cut with the coordinating Honey Cuts, and then adhered him with thin dimensional foam squares. To embellish the card I added some stamped four leaf clovers and a few Bee Mine clay hearts.

After creating this card, I realized that the Four Leaf Clover stamp set is currently not available in the Honey Bee Shop. If you do not have this set, I think there are many ways to incorporate the leprechaun gnome and the bold die cut word lucky into a card design with using other Honey Bee sentiment stamps and dies themed for friendship cards. Hopefully my design will help spark inspiration for your own lucky gnome cards. Until next time, happy crafting!

Sunny Studio - Sweet & Simple Easter Card

Hi there! I have a sweet and simple Easter card to share.  I think when you have a simpler scene on a card, it's important to accent it with other design elements that won't be too over powering.  That's where a die like the Sunny Studio Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace comes in handy.  This die can create just the right amount of interest without taking away from the focal point of the card.

I started with an A2 sized white card base.  I die cut the Eyelet Lace frame from pastel aqua card stock and adhered it to the card base with dimensional foam squares. Next I die cut a stitched oval from white card stock to house my little Easter scene.

I used a mix images from a few different Sunny Studio stamps sets for the scene.   The chick, basket, & eggs are from Chickie Baby.  The little chocolate bunny is from Chubby Bunny.  The tulips are from Spring Greetings. The greeting is from Happy Thoughts.  I Copic colored the images and die cut with the coordinating dies.  I then simply adhered the images onto the oval in a pleasing arrangement to complete the card.

Copic colors used: yellow - Y0000, Y00, Y15  pink - RV52, RV55  green - YG01, YG05  blue - BG10, BG11, BG13  light brown - E41, E42, E43  dark brown - E25, E27

Honey Bee Stamps - Gnome Love Themed Card

Hello everyone! I'm sharing a fun way to stretch your stamps over on the Honey Bee Stamps blog today. One of my favorite Honey Bee stamp sets released last year was Gnome Place Like Home. Even though this set is intended for Christmas holiday cards, I wanted to find a way to use the gnome images for other occasions.

Hello friends! So glad you stopped by today because I'm excited to share a card I've made with a new stamp set called A Cup of Happiness.

For this slimline card I created a stacked tea cup house using images from A Cup of Happiness.  This set is so fun and unique.  I stamped out five tea cups to create the stack.  There are separate window stamps to decorate the tea cups.  I Copic colored the images and added them to an ink blended background with dimensional foam squares.

I wanted to add some critters to this cute scene so I used a bee, butterfly, and bird image from an older Tonic Studios stamp set called Celebrate Friendship. The greeting I added is from A Cup of Happiness.

Sunny Studio - Spring Card with Cheerful Daisies

Hello crafty friends! I have a very springy card to share today featuring Sunny Studio stamps. I think this combination of spring daisies and little chicks is sure to brighten anyone's day.

This card is A2 size and I started with an ink blended background.  I used some Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron, Bundled Sage) and blending brushes to create my two toned background.  I then splatted the bottom 3/4's of the background with thinned green acrylic paint.  I always use acrylic paint for splattering because I can control the opaqueness of the splatters by adding more or less water to the paint.

I wanted to cover most of the card front with daisies.  I stamped out seven daisies and ten leaves from the Cheerful Daisies set. (ink colors for petals, centers, and leaves listed below)  I arranged the daisies and leaves closely together but left a little room to add the chicks which are from Chickie Baby.  I Copic colored the chicks with Y0000, Y00, Y15 - my go to colors for yellow chicks. I stamped the greeting from Cheerful Daisies in dark grey ink towards the top of the card.  I felt this design still needed a little something so I decided to add some butterflies.  I used tiny butterfly images from Spring Showers.

Altenew Ink colors used for daisies and leaves: Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, Buttercream, Warm Sunshine, Caramel Toffee, Limeade, Fresh Leaf

MFT & Friends - February 2020 Release

It's the first Tuesday of the month so you know what that means... a new collection of stamps and dies is now available over at My Favorite Things.  I'm happy to be joining them for release day.  I love the theme of this month's release.  It's all about celebrating our loved ones and friends on their birthdays.

I've made three cards to share today showcasing some the fun new stamps and dies.  All MFT products used have been listed an linked in the descriptions below along with a few details for each card.

My first card features Mini Cupcake Maker Die-namics along with a large stamped greeting (Sprinkled With Love).  I started with a light Distress Oxide ink blended background for this slimline design.  Picked Raspberry for the top half and Carved Pumpkin for the bottom half.

I found it easiest to give these cute little cupcakes color by blending the color onto a panel of white card and then die cutting the pieces out of that. The aqua liners are a blend of Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio. The frosting is a very light application of Picked Raspberry.  The cherries are Candied Apple and Twisted Citron for the stem.  For the candles I used a Copic markers to color the flame and add stripes.  The tiny flag was stamped with "HB2U" which is from Bitty Birthday Wishes.

The next card is also a birthday card. It was very quick and easy to make using the You Take The Cake Die-namics (it's free with a $60 purchase) along with images from Birthdays Take The Cake.

This card is A2 size and I started with a stenciled panel cut slightly smaller.  I used the Candy Stripes Stencil to create the diagonal stripe pattern.  I die cut the large greeting towards the left side of this panel and added some aqua colored card stock behind it.  I then added the Copic colored images with dimensional foam sqaures.  Easy peasy for a clean and simple birthday card.

For this last card, I have used the new Pumped Up Alphabet Die-namics for a fun way to add a greeting.  This card is a bigger format to accommodate the large greeting.  It's A6 size which measures 4.5" by 6.25".

I started by stenciling a cloud pattern over the entire card front.  I added the balloon letters to spell out "love you".  I colored the letters with Picked Raspberry and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxides.  I simply used a lighter hand with inking up the letter O and Y to get a softer shade of pink. I used a white gel pen to add polka dots.  I die cut the balloon strings from silver glitter card stock. Lastly I added the sweet bunny image and additional sentiment which are from the new Birdie Brown set called Birthday Buds.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you've enjoyed my cards and gotten a little inspiration for these awesome new MFT products.  Have a wonderful day!
