Rubeena’s Crafting Anniversary Blog Hop Day TWO + Giveaways

Welcome to Rubeena’s Crafting Anniversary 2-Day Blog Hop! This hop is epic with more than 70 guests and over $1,000 in sponsored prizes! Not only are we celebrating four years since Rubeena first discovered cardmaking but also crafting in general. This industry is made up of wonderful individuals who are creative, inspirational, kind, and incredibly supportive!

If you have arrived from Miriam Prantner's blog, then you are right on track. Your next stop will be Tracey McNeely's blog. I've posted a complete list of all the participants of Day 2 at the end of this post along with info on the giveaway!! For details on day one of the hop, you can visit this post.

I am truly honored to be a part of such an epic blog hop. Many thanks to my amazing friend Ruby for bringing us all together to celebrate our beloved hobby. I have been a paper crafter for about 20 years now. I fell hard for rubber stamps back in the late 90's and started making birthday cards for my family and friends. My style has evolved over the years, but I've always been fond of cute whimsical images and punny sentiments. So for the card I'm sharing today, I stuck with what I love.... a birthday card with cute characters and a fun sentiment.

I just recently purchased the Mama Elephant Book Worm stamp set. I had been seeing so many adorable cards featuring it. I have many book lovers in my family so this set will make the most perfect birthday cards for them. I started by stamping out 15 of the stacked books image. I knew I wanted to pretty much fill the entire card front with books. I've colored all the images with Copic markers and then added Glossy Accents to all the critter's eye glasses.

I've used some birthday text pattern paper and black card stock as mats to cover an A2 sized card base. I created towers of books and added them with the apple and worm to a white card stock panel slightly smaller than the black mat behind it. I then white heat embossed the sentiment from the Good Reads stamp set on a wide strip of black card stock. I tucked the one end of the sentiment srtip behind the first two stacks of books.

For the inside, I added one more tower of books and a book worm. I stamped a sentiment from Scripty Bday. And of course no book themed birthday card would be complete without a bookmark! I used a tag die from the Tags a Lot Creative Cuts set to create the body of the bookmark (which could double as a gift tag). I decorated the front of the bookmark with the last stacked book image I had left with that adorable dog perched on top. The sentiment is from Good Reads. I added the black tag fastener and tied on some bakers twine to finish it off.

In celebration of this anniversary, we have several amazing sponsors. Let’s thank them for their generosity! Winners will be randomly selected from comments left on all the blogs. The winners will be announced by Wednesday, September 5 on this page. Winners will have up to 2 weeks to contact Rubeena at to claim their prize before another winner is selected.

Hello Bluebird - August Release Card Reveal

Happy Saturday friends!  If you are a fan of Hello Bluebird then I'm sure you've heard
that the August release is now available.  You can find all the newest stamps and dies here.

I have several cards to share with you today, all of which are A2 size.
All images have been colored with Copic markers and cut out using the coordinating dies.
I've linked all the Hello Bluebird products used.  Let's get started!

For this first card I've used the Fall Friends and companion dies, along with the Birch Trees dies from the new release. I've also used the Gallery Frame Die 2 and the Grassy Knoll dies to help frame up the scene.  What's special about this card is that it's a shaker card but made without using the traditional foam tape and acetate to house the shaker bits.   Instead, I've used an Avery Elle stamp storage pocket to do the job.  My very talented and good friend Nicky Meek came up with this idea.  It's brilliant and without a doubt the easiest shaker card you can make.  Please check out her blog post here for a tutorial on how this is done.

This card features the new Blowing Leaves Background stamp.  I've stamped and embossed this background in white.  Then I used several colors of Distress Oxide inks just by wetting and smooshing on the color in several layers to get this colorful marbled look.

I used the Charlie Alpha dies to cut out the word FALL directly into the background.  The fox, leaves, and stamped part of the sentiment are from the Fall Friends stamp set.  I added a small piece of card stock that I've colored with a coordinating green Copic marker behind the die cut FALL.

Showcased on this card is the Spooky Scene Die which instantly gives you a fun background to build upon.  This die is like a cover plate and once the pieces are cut out and assembled, the entire A2 card front is covered.

The adorable characters, accessories,  and sentiments are from the Halloween Party stamp set.  This set is just jammed packed with cute images for building festive Halloween scenes.  It's one of my very favorites from this release.

For this last card, I've used the Halloween Fun stamp set and companion dies to create a fun spooky scene.  This set includes some faces that I stamped randomly into the background to give the look of invisible ghosts.

To create my colorful background, I again used some Distress Oxide inks and the ink smooching technique.  For the black splatters around the edge, I used black acrylic paint watered down slighty.  I covered the center of this panel and applied the paint with flicking motions.  This resulted in splatters and lines for a very cool effect.

I hope these cards have given you some idea as to all the cuteness you can create with these awesome new products.  Please stop by the Hello Bluebird blog for continued inspiration from the design team using this latest release.

Thanks for joining me today!

Honey Bee Stamps BEE BOLD Blog Hop

Hello and welcome Honey Bee friends!

Your next stop will be Carrie's blog

If any of you have been following my Instagram posts then you've seen some of the fabulous products in action.
I've got a new card to share today along with all the other cards I've previously posted on IG.

This card features the Birds and Bees stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts.   I've colored all my images with Copic markers and added highlight details with a white gel pen.  I love building scenes but I wanted to change it up a bit by using the Scalloped A2 Frames as a backdrop in an offset grid pattern.  For all four frames, I masked off the scalloped edges and inked the center area with a light blue ink.  I also lightly inked the front of the A2 card base with a pale peachy color.

The sentiments are from the Hi Honey stamp set which I stamped directly on two of the scalloped background pieces.  I trimmed off one side of each scalloped piece to ensure they all fit within the space of my card front and adhered them with foam tape.  Then I added all the images and hand drew in some dashed lines for the bee trails.

Below are the cards I've previously posted on Instagram with links to the new products used.
